The Blue Dragon baseball team faced off against Cowley in Arkansas City on March 15.
The Dragons lost the game, 5-3.
Their record is now 17-3 overall and 7-1 in the Jayhawk West conference.
The Dragons were down 3-2 after six innings had passed.
They were only able to score one more run as the game ended, but it wasn’t enough.
Hutch lost the game by two runs.
The Dragons played a series of four games at home, on March 12 and 14, against Seward County.
The Dragons won three and lost one.
The scores were 3-1, 4-5, 7-4, and 8-3.
In the final game against Seward, the Dragons opened up the first inning by scoring two runs.
After a scoreless second inning, Hutch stopped Seward from scoring and scored two more runs at the bottom of the third.
As the game went on, the Dragons still held the lead, 7-0, after seven innings.
In the top of the eighth inning, Seward scored after a homerun was hit with two on the bases.
The score was 7-3.
The Dragons answered them with another run at the bottom of the eighth,making it 8-3.
After another scoreless inning, the Dragons won the final game of the series, 8-3.
Hutch is scheduled to play a series of four games against Colby, in Colby, on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20.
